A man who allegedly went on the run while infected with coronavirus in Sydney is now facing 13 charges.
Anthony Karam, 27, was arrested at an apartment in Wentworth Point, near Homebush, just before 5.30pm yesterday.
He was placed in isolation at Bankstown Police Station.
He has since been charged with two counts of complying with a self-isolation direction, and nine counts of not wearing a fitted face covering in an indoor area of common property.
Karam was due to appear in court via a videolink today but there was difficulty setting this up due to his COVID-positive status.
Bail was not applied for and it was formally refused.
The case has been adjourned and will return to Bankstown Local Court on September 23.
Police had issued the warrant for his arrest last Friday, after he allegedly refused to isolate following a positive coronavirus test.
