Podcaster Joe Rogan has said that he is not coming to Canada as a result of the country’s vaccine mandates.

Speaking on his show, the Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan said that “I should probably say this: my 4/20 show that was sold out in Vancouver, I don’t think that’s happening.”

Rogan went on to say that he doesn’t “think I can even get into the country. I’m not vaccinated, I’m not going to get vaccinated, I have antibodies, it doesn’t make any sense.”

“I don’t think I can go,” he said. “Even if I do go, I don’t trust that Vancouver is not going to follow suit with what Toronto did and cut capacity.”

Rogan was planning a comedy show all throughout Canada, but provincial restrictions and federal travel bans have put a stop to that.

During the 2021 election, Trudeau campaigned on vaccine mandates, which he used as a political wedge issue. After this, Trudeau made it a requirement that everyone on a train and plane should be fully vaccinated.

On top of this, since the emergence of the Omicron variant, some provinces have chosen to install varying levels of restrictions, with British Columbia being one of the most severe.
