A St. Catharines taxi driver who would take children to and from school is facing numerous sexual assault charges, Niagara police say.
Officers with the child abuse unit began investigating an alleged sexual assault of a girl under the age of 16 in January of 2017, according to a media release.
The alleged offences all happened in the Niagara Region between April and May 2016, it says.
Police say that their investigation revealed the man was a taxi driver who would drive kids under the age of 16 to school and back again.
Detectives believe there may be more victims.
A 54-year-old man was arrested on Nov. 4.
Jamie Woods is charged with two counts of sexual assault with a weapon, two counts of sexual assault, four counts of sexual interference, three counts of invitation to sexual touching and three counts of exposing genitals to a minor.
The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
