Multiple counties in Washington state are seeking people to work on “strike teams” at COVID “isolation & quarantine” facilities, according to postings on a government hiring website.

Listings on GovernmentJobs.com indicate staff are being sought for at least two such sites in Lewis and Thurston Counties.

Prospective applicants were recently invited to interview for full-time positions as “Strike Team Consultants” at the State Isolation & Quarantine Facility in Centralia, Washington, according to a post by the Washington State Department of Health that appears to have expired or been taken down.

Katie Daviscourt of The Post Millennial shared screenshots of the job description on social media.

“Our ideal candidate is outward even when confronted with others that are not open or collaborative. They demonstrate resilience to model outward behaviors even when stressed or tired,” the agency explained.

Another post on the hiring site seeks temporary staffers for an Isolation & Quarantine Facility in Thurston County.

“I/Q On-Site Staff work rotating shifts … to support the COVID-19 response by overseeing the daily operations and oversight of guests at the facility under the supervision of the I/Q Coordinator,” Thurston County Public Health and Social Services explains.

“This also includes, but is not limited to, ensuring that guests are receiving basic services, by monitoring guests, coordinating food and other deliveries to guest rooms and communicating with host facility staff, and maintaining strong communication throughout the I/Q Team.”

The exact locations of either facility are unclear, however, the Washington Department of Health relocated a quarantine and isolation facility from a summer camp in Thurston County to a motel in Centralia in May.

After just weeks of operation at the Lakeview Inn, officials in Lewis County demanded the state move the facility elsewhere.
