Texas authorities are deploying gunboats to patrol the Rio Grande amid a surge of cartel activity along the U.S. southern border, according to reports.
Vessels equipped with mounted automatic rifles have been floated onto the barrier river by the Texas Highway Patrol in recent days.
“Texas DPS gunboats entering the fray of the Biden Border Crisis. Those are four 3.08 cal full auto machine guns to deter cartel trouble-makers,” reported Todd Bensman, Senior National Security Fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies, on Wednesday.

Bensman has been stationed along the southern frontier frequently this year, warning of the massive surge of migrants illegally crossing into the U.S.
