The organizer of the cross-Canada truckers’ convoy says the group’s GoFundMe page — which has so far raised $4.4 million — has not been frozen.

Organizer Tamara Lich, head of the GoFundMe page, spoke to Western Standard on Tuesday morning claiming mainstream media reports that it was shut down are not accurate.

“Right now I am working with the finance committee, organizing logistics for our drivers re: fuel, stops, hotel rooms; collecting registrations and working with our Ground Zero team prepping in Ottawa,” said Lich.

Lich said she is in direct contact with GoFundMe making sure everything is done correctly.

“We require that fundraisers be transparent about the flow of funds and have a clear plan for how those funds will be spent,” Rachel Hollis, GoFundMe’s director of communications, told CTV.

The trucker convoy funding is still accumulating, up to 57,000 donations and growing quickly.

Lich is currently driving in the lead of the Freedom Convoy 2022 across Canada, which is a protest against mandates caught the attention of an international audience.

Lich also wanted to clarify despite her being a part of the Maverick Party, the organization is not involved with the protest.
